Privacy policy
Last updated
This policy explains what information FindMyRecall collects and how it is used. We collect as little as we need to run the site.
Searching for recalls
You can search without an account. When you use the search box, your search terms are sent to our server, which looks them up in the FDA's public openFDA data. We do not save your searches to a database or link them to you. Results for a search may be cached for up to 10 minutes to keep the site fast, and your IP address is held briefly in memory to prevent abuse (rate limiting). Requests to the FDA are covered by the openFDA terms.
Email alerts
If you sign up for recall alerts, we store:
- your email address,
- the keywords and categories you asked to be alerted about, and
- when you signed up and confirmed your address.
We use this only to send you the confirmation email and the recall alerts you asked for. We do not sell your email address. Data is stored with our database provider (Supabase) and emails are delivered by our email provider (Resend).
Every alert email has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing deletes your email address and all of your alerts.
Server logs
Like most websites, our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically records technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, to operate and secure the site.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used, such as which pages are visited. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information like pages viewed, approximate location, and device type. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
We use Vercel Speed Insights to measure page loading performance. It collects anonymous performance metrics and does not use cookies.
Cookies, advertising, and links to other sites
FindMyRecall does not set its own tracking cookies. If we show ads, our advertising partners (such as Google) may use cookies to show and measure ads; you can manage this in your browser settings and at Google Ad Settings. Some pages link to third-party sites, including sponsored legal evaluation offers. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
Children
FindMyRecall is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes and contact
We will update this page if our practices change, and revise the date above. Questions about privacy: contact@findmyrecall.com.
