About FindMyRecall
An independent, plain-language way to check whether your food or medicine has been recalled.
Last updated
FindMyRecall is an independent service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Recall information is sourced from official FDA/openFDA public data.
What FindMyRecall does
The FDA publishes every food and drug recall, but the official reports are long, technical, and hard to search on a phone. FindMyRecall takes that official data and presents it in plain language: you can search by product, brand, or lot number, see how serious each recall is, and find general next steps.
- Search recalls by product name, brand, or the lot or UPC code on your package.
- Browse this week's recalls, the latest food and drug recalls, the recall list by year, or recalls by product.
- Get free email alerts when the FDA posts a recall notice matching products you use.
Where the information comes from
Recall records come from official U.S. Food and Drug Administration enforcement reports, published through the FDA's public openFDA service. Email alerts come from the FDA's public recall notices. Every recall page links to its FDA source record. Read the full editorial & sources policy for how we collect, update, and present this data.
The official notice comes first
FindMyRecall simplifies official recall information for consumers; it does not replace it. The FDA or manufacturer recall notice is the authoritative source. Always follow the official recall instructions, and for medicines, talk to your pharmacist or doctor. Information about medications here is general and is not individualized medical advice. See our disclaimer.
How we're funded
FindMyRecall may show advertising and clearly labelled sponsored links. These never change which recalls we show or how we describe them.
